This bird call 'Schol-ekster" in Dutch. But we don't know in English word. Maybe you know???
I made this shot when my son and I play in the school playground this morning. He made very loud sound. I made a small video with my digicam. If you watch it, I think I made too much move when I made the video ^__^ But the sound is very clear. Just turn on your speaker :P

Fun to hear a schol-ekster!
And fun to try to spell it. hehe
Always nice to see our feathered friends. Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the comment, I truly appreciate it.
I am not very good with identifying birds, but my Mom is an avid bird watcher, and she would probably know.
I just love google... I found a site called European Bird Name Translator. According to them Ekster would translate to Magpie. Cool photo and video.
Wow.. great shot on the bird!
My CC is now posted, too! Hope you could check it out HERE.
Happy weekends!
It is certainly a bird that demands attention! I have never seen one like this before. I liked the video and it was just the right length. My grandkids heard the song and came to see what it was too!

JoAnn from Holland
How fun to know you're Dutch! My maternal grandparents came to the USA from Holland in the early 1900s but they wanted their children to be American, so (sadly) the language was lost rather than passed down. I did visit Holland in 1969 and found it lovely.
Hugs and blessings,
